Parks and Recreation Juggling Class II
February 25 - April 8 2009 (6 classes, skipping March 25)
After the success of the first class (ending on February 18th), The Pendleton Juggling club, again through Pendleton Parks and Recreation, is offering another class! The new class starts on Wednesday, Februrary 25th and will be a 6 class session. There will be no class on March 25th due to Spring Break and we will make up that class at the end, on April 8th. The time/place are the same as before:

When: Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm beginning Februrary 25th. 6 classes, skipping March 25th, last class on April 8th

Where: The Helen McCune gymnasium ("The Rec Center") on Dorion Street next to the Library, in Pendleton.
[500 SW Dorion, Pendleton, OR] Map it »

What: We can teach you how to juggle if you've never done it before or give you tips on perfecting that 5-ball reverse cascade or 4-ball Mill's Mess you've been working on but just can't get. We'll provide the equipment if you need it, but feel free to bring your own stuff to juggle and share. We meet in a big open gym so there's lots of room to move around and do your own thing or take advantage of one-on-one instruction if you need it. We also love to pass clubs/balls/rings between 2 or more people and want to teach more people how to do it!

Cost: $20 for the 6 classes. Same great deal!

How to register: Call Pendleton Parks and Recreation at 541-276-8100. They don't offer online registration but for information on other ways to register, visit their web site at www.pendletonparksandrec.com.

Juggling Equipment
Some useful links to online juggling retailers:

Renegade Juggling: Known for their great juggling clubs (pins), they also sell beanbags, rings and plenty of other juggling stuff.

Dube Juggling: One of the best online juggling retailers. Tons of great stuff.

Serious Juggling: A Portland, OR juggling store! They have a very nice showroom at 1532 NE 37th Ave Ste A in Portland (see website for phone number and directions) but they also have a great online store.

Recommendations
For beanbags, I highly recommend Mr. Babache and Juggler's Pro Shop. Both are available at Serious Juggling:

Junior and small beanbags. In this section you will find the junior size (2") and small size (2.5") of Mr. Babache 4-panel vinyl beanbags. You will also see the Juggler's Pro Shop small corduroy (2.5") 6-panel beanbags. These are made by the same person that made the small purple ones you may have seen me use in class. I thought these were no longer being made, but they are! Note that the Pro Shop bags are lighter than the Mr. Babache vinyl for the 2.5" size (85g vs. 100g)

Regular size
This section has the same equipment in slightly larger sizes: Mr. Babache 4-panel vinyl (2.7") and Juggler's Pro Shop medium corduroy (2.75"). Again Pro Shop bags are lighter here (111 vs. 130g)

Other notes: For small children you may want to go with the 2" junior-style bags but for adults with smaller hands, 2.5" is probably the smallest you'd need for learning 3 balls. Of course, the other online retailers also sell very high quality beanbags and equipment in similar sizes, colors and weights. Click around!
